Training & Behaviour work

Understanding behaviour when life with your dog feels difficult.

When behaviour becomes stressful or problematic, it can affect every part of everyday life. Often, what looks like a behaviour problem is a sign that something in your dog's environment, experience, or current circumstances is causing them to struggle.

Our training & behaviour programmes focus on understanding why behaviour is happening, rather than trying to suppress or control what is seen on the surface. By stripping things back and looking at the whole picture, clearer decisions can be made about how to move forward. Owners are then supported with practically applicable exercises to work on during each session.

Who these programmes are for

These programmes are for dogs whose behaviour feels worrying or confusing, or has changed over time, and for owners who want to understand what is influencing what they are seeing rather than relying on guesswork.

This may include:
• Reactivity
• Fear responses
• Aggression
• Shutdown or avoidance
• Behaviour that feels unpredictable or hard to live with

How the programmes work

Training & behaviour work begins with careful information gathering and assessment. Time is taken to understand the dog’s history, daily life, environment, and the context in which behaviour occurs.

From this understanding, a structured plan is developed that focuses on clarity, consistency, and realistic change over time. Different programme formats exist depending on the level of complexity and what is needed next

Available training & behaviour programmes

Training & behaviour work is tailored to the individual dog and the situation. The options below outline the current ways to access training & behaviour programmes.

Essential Coaching Plan

This programme includes 4 hours of coaching, bridging the gap between skills training and behavioural guidance. Alongside strengthening core training behaviours, we begin addressing challenges that may be affecting day-to-day life.

This programme allows more time for coaching, adjustment, and real-life application, helping you understand why behaviours are happening and how to support your dog effectively.

We might work on:

  • strengthening training around distractions

  • over-excitement or frustration

  • confidence building

  • settling difficulties

  • mild reactivity or big emotions

  • improving communication between you and your dog

The additional session space allows us to adapt the plan as your dog learns, ensuring you feel supported throughout the process.
