Dogs over 6 Months
Learning everyday skills as dogs grow and change.
As dogs move beyond puppyhood, their needs change. Behaviours that felt manageable earlier on can start to feel more challenging, and everyday life may need a bit more clarity and direction.
These group classes are for dogs over six months of age and follow the APDT UK Good Companion Awards. They focus on skills that make day-to-day life with your dog easier and more enjoyable.
Dogs learn at different speeds, and the classes are paced to reflect that. There’s no rush and no expectation to move on before a dog is ready.
How the classes work
The Good Companion Awards are taught across a small number of levels. Each level builds naturally on the last, giving dogs and owners time to practise, settle, and develop skills that carry over into everyday life.
The emphasis is on clarity, consistency, and learning together, rather than ticking boxes or racing ahead.
Improvers
This level is for dogs who already have some basic training in place and are ready to build more consistency in everyday situations.
Improvers focuses on strengthening skills such as loose lead walking, recall, calm behaviour around people and other dogs, and working together with fewer prompts.
Saturdays 11:30 am -12:30 pm

Intermediate
Intermediate classes build on the Improvers level, introducing more challenge and reliability across a wider range of real-life situations.
This level suits dogs who are ready to work with greater focus, cope with more distractions, and apply their skills more consistently outside familiar settings.

Advanced
The Advanced level focuses on integrating skills and using them reliably in everyday life.
This course will push you and your dog, not to perfection, but pretty damn close. Whilst continuing to improve your bond, build confidence in more challenging situations, and enjoy ongoing learning together.
