Dog training in Bath: your questions answered.

The questions we hear most from Bath dog owners, answered straight. If yours is not here, send us a message or book a free assessment call.

When should I start training my puppy?

You can start as soon as your puppy is home. The earlier good habits begin, the easier everything else becomes. Our Puppy Programme gives you four months of support in and around Bath, with home sessions, puppy classes, weekly Q&As and WhatsApp support. It is designed for puppies joining before five months old.

Can an older dog still be trained?

Yes. Dogs of any age can learn. We work with adolescent and adult dogs across Bath, Trowbridge, Bradford-on-Avon and the surrounding towns, through Saturday group classes, the Behaviour Programme and the Intensive Week.

What is a reactive dog?

A reactive dog is one that barks, lunges or struggles around other dogs, people or other triggers, usually out of fear or frustration. Our Behaviour Programme is built for this: an assessment at home, private sessions, carefully managed group practice and regular coaching.

Do you offer one-to-one training or group classes?

Both. Saturday group classes run in Bath at four levels: Puppy, Improver, Intermediate and Advanced. The Puppy Programme and the Behaviour Programme combine private sessions with group work. The Intensive Week is one-to-one across five days.

How much does dog training cost?

Group classes are £135 for a six-week block. The Puppy Programme and the Behaviour Programme each run for four months and cost £199 a month, paid over three months. The Intensive Week is £1,250. Retreats are £1,400 per lodge for the full week and £1,100 for the long weekend.

What is a dog training retreat?

It is a five-day training holiday in the Wiltshire countryside with Adam Daines. You train with your dog in the mornings and explore in the afternoons, staying in award-winning glamping on a half-board basis. In 2027 there are full weeks and long weekends in April and September.

What areas do you cover?

Bath, Trowbridge, Bradford-on-Avon, Corsham, Radstock, Saltford and Midsomer Norton. If you live further away, the Intensive Week concentrates the work into five days, and our online courses are open to anyone.

What training methods do you use?

Reward-based and practical. We use food, play and praise, and we do not use pain or intimidation. We work out why behaviour is happening before we try to change it.

How do I get started?

Answer the short Find the Right Support questionnaire and we will point you to the right service. For the Puppy Programme, the Behaviour Programme and the Intensive Week, the next step is a free assessment call. Group classes can be booked directly.
